Business Dynamics: the changing face of the workplace.
In the natural health and beauty industries things are changing…rapidly. The workplace is now an arena for so much more than just earning a wage. From the views of many employers they want and need more from their staff than ever before and from the employees perspective, they want recognition for hard work and a commitment from their workplace for stability and a creative outlet for further education and training support. All these things can be achieved with constructive planning and consultation.
So, what do you want for your business? Have you ever really asked yourself this question?
More and more business owners are flat out trying to manage their businesses by being all things to everyone. What happens? The boss becomes exhausted, disillusioned and frustrated that the business is running them and not the other way around.
Now consider this…what if you had a vital part of your business development and staffing strategies outsourced? How much time would that give you to work on your business as opposed to working in your business? Think about it. Sourcing, training and developing staff is a very time consuming activity. If you had someone else doing this for you, to your specifications and industry standards, what would that do for your business and for your sanity? Worth a thought huh?
Do’s When Employing Staff
DO be very specific about your requirements eg. qualifications, references, experience
DO be realistic and flexible about your expectations during the standard induction period
DO ask for help in the areas of mentoring, in-house training and troubleshooting if you need it
Do’s When Applying for a Position![1514226_T[1]](http://www.kindredpersonnelsolutions.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/1514226_T1.jpg)
- DO complete an honest and reliable resume; yes, we check everything.
- DO be prepared and punctual for all interviews
- DO your research; have some information about the workplace you are interviewing for
- DO relax! Be yourself! Personality is a vital part of determining suitability
- DO dress for success! If you want to be treated as a serious professional in your field, then presentation is paramount! If you look good, you feel good and that will give you greater confidence through the interviewing process.
